File Systems Overview
This course will provide an overview of both typical workstation file systems (NTFS, FAT32, ext3) and distributed filesystems available at ND through the CRC (specifically NFS and AFS). Discussion will focus on filesystem commands, file permissions, and backup/reliability. The new CRC AFS cell will be introduced and its salient software and hardware features discussed.
